"In times like these, we don't need to redefine the Democratic Party, we need to reclaim the Democratic Party"

Straight to you from my friends at PoliticsTV is the video of John Edwards homerun speech yesterday at the DNC Winter Meeting. The title of this post joins the title of my post about his speech at Riverside Church in NYC on MLK Day as favorite lines that really define the essence of the 2008 Presidential campaign. The other line was "It's time for Americans to be patriotic about something other than war." Edwards keeps getting better. He's far better than he was in 2004 and I'm looking forward to following his progress.

Enjoy the video, but I must say, it doesn't do justice to the reaction from the crowd. The cheers were so loud at times, that you couldn't hear what he was saying. When he comes to campaign near you, GO. You won't regret it.

Edwards speech is amazing...and perfect and it sure as heck solidifies that I am for Edwards..he spoke in positive terms as for what we need to do as Americans..I loved his line that "Tomorrow begins Today" and he outlined a great platform for America at home and abroad....in its own way it reminds me of the lines of Micah (that "we need to be humble, do mercy, be just, help the least amongst us and walk humbly with thy God")

that is what the Democratic Party does best and expresses best and expresses hope and real progressive change for all Americans and for the world.

That has to be the best speech I have heard in years and it shows a great deal of substance, a clear vision for the country and the world and inspiration for all of us.

I sure hope that Edwards is the Democratic nominee..and I have to agree that Edwards has grown by leaps and bounds in the last four years and is an amazing candidate.

I also love that he has the guts to speak 'truth to power' by saying we need to bring our troops in Iraq home NOW, end the funding and it is betrayal for a Democratic controlled Congress to roll over and play dead with Bush/Cheney because they will laugh at a meaningless non binding resolution and keep our troops there until the money is cut off and they are ordered to bring the troops home now!
